Multan's mango varieties, month by month
When Sindhri, Dusehri, Langra, Anwar Ratol, Chaunsa and White Chaunsa arrive in South Punjab, how they differ, and which travel well by courier.
Pakistan's mango season runs for about five months, from mid-May in Sindh to late September in Punjab. Punjab fruit arrives roughly three to four weeks after Sindh.
June
Sindhri is large, juicy and travels well. Dusehri comes early but is delicate. Langra stays green even when ripe, so buyers often think it isn't ready.
July
Anwar Ratol is small and very sweet, with a short window of roughly 1 to 25 July. Chaunsa, Multan's signature, runs from early July to mid-August.
August and September
White Chaunsa is the late-season treat and keeps well.
Natural ripening
Ripening mangoes with calcium carbide is illegal in Punjab. Natural ripening takes about five to seven days after picking, which is why we ship fruit firm-ripe so it finishes ripening at your home.
